Lots of cleverness came to mind when we started to write this post Metro News blowing up for a good cause, however, none seemed appropriate for the subject matter. Juniper Park asked us to help build this page-take-over for Mines Action Canada — an organization dedicated to eliminating the impacts of victim-activated weapons and restoring the rights and dignity of affected individuals and communities. Our job was to create a simulation of a land-mine exploding and taking over Metro News. We created a fake content page, complete with fake rich media banners —including a live action shoot. All of this, combined with 3D animation and post VFX, was assembled in Flash. Interactivity is low, but impact is high. Check it out and be sure to visit minesactioncanada.org to find how you can help to make it stop.
