As is often the case with projects: we were handed a bag of material and a reel of footage and asked to ”do something cool with it”. In this case it was a bag of band scrapbooks and tour photography that we integrated with performance footage in a pastich that reflected the scrapbook source of the materials. Both the band and the director were thrilled that the video made high rotation on Canadian music video network MuchMusic.

Don’t GO there…

go_warning.jpg

At some point somebody thought it would be a good idea to put a railway between our office building and the rest of the neighborhood. Okay, it happened a hundred years ago, but we still take it personally. To make a short story long we’ll call that somebody GO Transit and we’ll blame them for the abdication of “our side of the tracks” from the rest of the neighborhood.

In order to reach the neighborhood, and the booming lunch destinations of our fancy, one must make a miserable trudge beneath the tracks—rife with pigeon-shit stalactites, dripping bridge “sweat” and noise/air pollution from trucks and cars.

While crossing the tracks has its share of hazards, the lands upon which the tracks lay are a last vestige of nature in the city core and have become a welcome solace to the trudge below. This route is considered by many “the road most traveled” as indicated by the numerous holes in the fence and footpaths across. In other words just about everyone crosses the tracks to eat lunch. Yes there is a hole in the fence, yes we know we’re not supposed to be there, yes yes yes we shouldn’t GO there. Well we got nabbed by the GO cops last week and here are our official notices of warning to prove it. They were doled out to us by a very official looking dude with a very official demeanor and they look very, um, official.

I guess we’ll make a run for it next time.
