Meld People
Ken Reddick - Owner and Creative Director
Ken’s 10 years as a motion graphics director and designer in film, TV and new media has put him directly in the eye of the hurricane that is the video/animation/interactive online branding experience. In 1999 he founded Meld with the desire to bring the ruckus to agency and non-agency clients alike. His subsequent work has been recognized by Promax/BDA, Applied Arts, Cannes and the Marketing Awards. Ken thinks that’s like, pretty cool and stuff, but doesn’t let it take over his life. He’s a new dad so diapers have already taken over his life.
Michael Dobell - Exec Producer, New Business
After drifting through a standard humanities degree in classic West Coast fashion, (followed by an all too typical year in Japan teaching English), Mike found his focus and turned his mind to media related business. As Meld Media’s Executive Producer, Mike’s tenacity in this realm has been instrumental in creating cutting edge 3D animation and motion graphics work for clients like Mini, Nivea and Nike. The fact that he’s helped these clients win awards from Marketing Magazine and Cannes shows that his focus has paid off. Mike also finds himself on the cutting edge of cycling, and can be found ripping through town on his fixed gear track bike.
James Hackett, Technical Director
James is a gentleman and a scholar. If by gentleman you mean great cook and by scholar you mean video game historian. James is also an experienced animator whose long list of credits include compositing, visual effects and mograph work for clients like Disney, Treehouse, VH1, Imax and Fisher-Price, broadcast work for numerous TV shows and conversion credit for the first live action 3D production ever, Superman Returns. His credits will soon also include a BA in communications and sociology from York U where he goes when he isn’t working or being a general man about the town, a flaneur if you will, to borrow from Baudelaire.
